Receive a rebate for up to $75 when you purchase an eligible WaterSense-labeled smart controller. Smart controllers reduce water waste by automatically adjusting how often and how long a landscape is watered based on local weather and landscape conditions.
  1. Review the program overview and eligibility requirements found on this website.
  2. Purchase and install a WaterSense-labeled smart controller (also called timer or clock). See the Helpful Resources tab for a list of eligible controllers.
  3. Complete a rebate application on this website within 30 days of purchasing your new controller. To complete your application, you will need to provide the following items:
    • Proof of Purchase.
    • Photos showing the installed smart controller.
    • The smart controller’s serial number, make, and model..
  4. Rebate checks will be made payable to the property owner.
  1. Rebates are limited to one smart controller per property every five years.
  2. Rebate applications must be submitted within 30 days of purchasing your smart controller.
  3. Rebates will be given for up to $75 of the purchase price excluding tax, shipping, and installation costs.
  4. Rebates are for actual money spent. The use of rewards points, or multiple rebates may reduce the rebate amount or disqualify the rebate.
  5. Properties must be located in Utah to qualify for a rebate.
  6. New smart controllers must be WaterSense labeled. See the Helpful Resources tab for a full list of eligible controllers.
  7. This program is subject to available funds and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
  8. Rebate checks will be made payable to the property owner.
  9. An inspection of the smart controller installation may be performed to verify compliance.
How many rebates may I request?

Rebates are limited to one rebate per property every five years.

How much water will I save with a smart controller?

Actual savings may vary, but WaterSense estimates that up to 8,800 gallons of water could be saved annually by replacing standard controllers with smart controllers.

What is a Smart Controller?

Smart irrigation controllers can adapt your watering schedule based on weather and landscape needs. This means your yard will only be watered when it actually needs it.

How much is the rebate?

You can receive a rebate up to $75 for your WaterSense-labeled smart controller. Rebate amounts are based on the actual money spent and exclude shipping fees and taxes.

Note: Some controllers are only considered smart controllers when coupled with a sensor or weather station. If you choose one of these models, be sure to purchase both the controller and the specified sensor or weather station.
